Why Did You Decide to Become a Orthodontist?

Dr. Rachel grew up in a healthcare-centered family and always felt drawn toward a career where she could make a meaningful impact on others. From a young age, she loved creative thinking and complex problem-solving, and she found that orthodontics perfectly combined those interests with her passion for building relationships and helping people feel more confident. During dental school, she worked part-time in a pediatric dentistry and orthodontic office, where she quickly realized orthodontics was the perfect fit for her.

Where Did You Study?

Dr. Rachel grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. She then moved to Seattle to complete her orthodontic residency and a Master of Science in Dentistry degree at the University of Washington.

To stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthodontics, Dr. Rachel is an active member of professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.

Outside of the Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Rachel is an avid literary fiction reader, yoga enthusiast, and amateur chef. She loves spending time with her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephew. She and her fiancé also love traveling and exploring new cultures. After graduating dental school, they spent three weeks backpacking through Southeast Asia together.
