Dr. Yiran—known as Dr. Ren to many of his patients—grew up in Chicago’s northern suburbs and is thrilled to be back serving the community he calls home. With a strong passion for pediatric dentistry and a special focus on caring for patients with special needs, he is dedicated to creating a comfortable, positive experience for every child and family he meets. He looks forward to continuing relationships with patients he has cared for throughout his journey.
Why Dentistry?
Dr. Yiran discovered his passion for dentistry early on through a high school shadowing opportunity. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong commitment to the field. Over the years, he has developed a deep appreciation for working with children and patients with special needs, finding it especially rewarding to connect with them and provide compassionate, understanding care.
Education & Training
Dr. Yiran earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before attending dental school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then completed his residency at Yale New Haven Hospital/Yale University, where he received advanced training in pediatric dentistry. Fun fact: Dr. Yiran and Dr. Hanna were co-residents one year apart!
Outside the Office
When he’s not at the office, you can find Dr. Yiran exploring new cities or trying new restaurants. You might even run into him out and about enjoying everything Chicago has to offer!
